Dr. Lauren Taylor Semanchik
May 5, 1992 - August 2, 2025
Dr. Lauren Semanchik lost her life senselessly on August 2, 2025, at the young age of 33 years.
Lauren was full of life and love. She was selfless and compassionate. Her deep passion and devotion for animals came at a very early age. At the age of 10, she found solace and refuge in her beloved cat Sneakers, who spent over 20 years by Lauren’s side. Sneakers was the first of many rescues that Lauren brought into her home and heart. Known as Lil’ L as a young child, Lauren was carefree and just happy to be.
Lauren attended University of Wisconsin – Madison where she obtained a degree in Microbiology in 2013. During her undergraduate years, she received the Honors in Liberal Arts award, which proved her academic excellence and commitment to her studies. Lauren graduated Veterinary School in 2018.
Lauren had an energy for life. Music was her light. She immensely enjoyed live concerts and social events where music was involved. In addition, to watch her dance… was captivating; so free and easy. Her creative mind loved to garden and tend to her home, designing and stepping back with a sense of pride. Lauren had a non-judgmental soul, and an acceptance of one, and all. Her inner peace came from spending time with her friends and family; especially her two sisters Deanna and Allison. To know her was to love her.
Currently, Dr. Lauren was employed with the Long Valley Animal Hospital. She was beyond caring with her patients and their families, devoting her whole heart to their needs. She loved her coworkers, as they all became her friends. They will always remember her post-it notes everywhere, and the fragrant smell of lavender oil filling the air. In addition to her current role as a veterinarian, Lauren was an active member of Lap of Love, providing end of life comfort and care to pets, and their humans. Lauren’s empathetic personality, along with her love of all animals, made this role especially suiting. Her heart held a space for their pets, and she saw them as family.
Lauren is survived by her father Richard (Debbie) Semanchik, her mother Jennine Semanchik, her two sisters Deanna and Allison Semanchik, and her maternal grandmother Jennie Yesse. She is also survived by her aunts and uncles; Kenneth (Ann) Semanchik, Christopher (Mary Ann) Semanchik, Philip Semanchik, Carol Ann (Mark) Thiel, Hope (Jack) Cotone and John Cotone. Additionally she leaves a host of cousins, extended family and very dear friends who will continue to love her beyond measure, and will hold Lauren close to their hearts.
